Environmental Conservation

Therefore it needs more volunteers to assist in lessening the negative impact that tourism and rapid economic development have left. The glaciers and areas closer to the Everest base camp have been badly affected by such rampant growth in tourism. As an overseas volunteer, one will get to teach various subjects, mainly English, to enhance the local curriculum. This will allow students make a good living in the future, by possibly acting as tour guides in the tourism industry.


Volunteers can teach subjects related to personal health in Nepal. This includes how to offer first aid, general data on healthcare, management skills and data related to diseases endemic to the region.

Working with an agency is highly advisable. Ask questions about the individual program you are interested in. If you are looking for something very particular, the agency may be able to direct you towards the greatest opportunities that are available at the moment.

Do I need to be a citizen of a specific country to volunteer? No. Every person in the world can participate in a project in Nepal.

Is there an age requirement? Any individuals who are 18 years old and above can volunteer, provided that you are in good health.

Will the volunteering team provide me financial support? Unfortunately, no. You will need to support yourself in your chosen volunteering program.

Do I need vaccinations before entering Nepal? What other medications should I bring? You don’t need to have immunizations. Though, it is recommended you have vaccines for Diphtheria and Tetanus, Hepatitis A and B, Japanese B Encephalitis, Polio, Rabies, Tetanus and Typhoid. If you will come from a country infected with the yellow fever, it is necessary to be vaccinated prior to entering Nepal.

What is the climate in Nepal? The climate depends on the location. The northern part is much colder and the southern part is warmer. So if you will volunteer near the north, you should bring warm clothes.
