About

What do you want to get out of your study abroad experience? No matter what, you’ll have to spend some time in the classroom. But what if there were a way to get out into your new city and truly live what you learn?

Welcome to CAPA: The Global Education Network. For over 40 years CAPA has been changing students’ lives by immersing them in various cultures around the world.

Through coursework, internship opportunities, and My Global Education cultural activities you will participate in challenges that excite and inspire you. Enjoy creamy gelato as you learn about the renaissance, or lose yourself in Shakespeare as you recall his words steps from where they were written. However you choose to do it, make your study abroad experience your own, and find yourself in a second home you will never forget.

*While we only accept US students and provide undergraduate credit, some exceptions may apply. Contact a CAPA admissions adviser today to talk about what will work best for you.

I studied abroad in Dublin during the Fall semester of 2017. Due to my introverted nature, I was cautious about studying abroad. CAPA reassured me that I made the right decision to go abroad. Studying in a foreign country pushed me outside of my comfort zone, but in a good way. CAPA also had an onsite office in Dublin and they were so helpful, I went to them when I had a mix up with my class schedule or wanted to see a friendly face. I took classes at Griffith College with Irish and international students. The courses that I took were challenging, but not as hard as the ones at my college back home, Seattle University. Besides being introduced to Dubliners and other Irish locals, I had the opportunity to meet other study abroad students from different parts of the United States. Dublin was a perfect size, not too small that it seems boring and not too large to get lost in. Dublin is filled with lots of history but is still a great city for young generations.

How can this program be improved?
I wished that I could've received my pre-departure information packet and other documents that I needed to sign earlier than a month before I was set to leave. It also took several months for CAPA to send my grades from the semester abroad, but I'm not sure how much control they had over that.

To be able to say that I lived in Italy for 3 months seems unreal. To say that besides Italy, I travelled to 9 other countries, seems beyond me. But I did do all those things! I explored a new, beautiful culture and fell in love with it. I strongly encourage everyone who has the opportunity to do so, to go for it. These experiences turn into lifelong memories you will cherish for the rest of your life.

Hi, So my time in Dublin was fantastic with CAPA. They planned great expeditions and we also were located extremely close to the city. The Internship they found me led was fantastic, and I am going to intern with the same company in my home country. The people I met were great. I dormed with a German, a Columbian and had some Spanish friends down the hall. We are all great friends and stay in contact. I love this city and would love to live there one day. The city is expensive though. It is comparable to New York in regard to housing pricing and food.

Before going on this program, I have never been out of the country before. coming into this program was a nerve racking yet exciting experience. I love London and everything the city has to offer. CAPA did a great job of making us feel welcome and allowing us to be independent while also helping us to navigate the city. All in all, I would say that study abroad has been a huge commitment but I think it was definitely worth it. the friends and memories I have made in my short time here are something I never want to forgot. I am excited to share my experiences and memories with you all while I continue on this amazing journey.

This program was a great way to intern abroad. i study finance and was able to work for a bank in Ireland, allowing me to diversify my resume and gain critical experience needed to finding a job in the US. The support system with CAPA was great in that they were always on campus and around to answer travel questions of make recommendations. the classes were challenging but very useful as well. I would absolutely recommend this program.

How can this program be improved?
The only thing to note is that housing is European and small.
